Criminal Minds 5x09: 100
Huh. Possibly the first episode without a somehow significant title. I guess anniversaries do that, which is a teeny-tiny bit of a shame, because there are so many ways they could have made the episode title massively suggestive. Oh well.

Long-winded and faux-deep play-by-play and analysis. If it wasn't obvious, there be SPOILERS here. )

Tell me what you really think of me.

Where do I impress you? How do I disappoint you? What do you find interesting or frustrating about me? What do I need to improve? What do I need to stop talking about so much? What do you think I exaggerate or lie about?

How would you change me?

Randy Pausch died today from complications of pancreatic cancer, Reuters reports. He was 47 and is survived by his wife and three young children.

Your 'last lecture' was an inspiration to all of us, professor Pausch. Rest in peace.

Title: Four goodbyes Rodney McKay said before leaving Atlantis (and one he didn’t say)
Pairing: n/a (McKay/Zelenka if you turn down the light, tilt your head and squint like *this*)
Rating: G
Summary: When Rodney left Atlantis there wasn’t a whole lot of people left to say goodbye to. Set during the alternate timeline in 4x20 “The Last Man”
Spoilers: For 4x20 "The Last Man", obviously, and also 4x18 and 4x19 "The Kindred (pts. 1 and 2)"
Words: ~2,200
Beta: The lovely and immensely talented [info]bergann. Read her stories, for she is the stuff of which awesomeness is made (to shamelessly quote someone else). Has been changed since it was in her hands, so all stupidness is mine. Also thanks to [info]mijmeraar and [info]sevs_girl72 for flattery and general cheering-on.
Disclaimer: If I owned SGA, McKay and Zelenka would live in shared quarters and alternately bicker and have hot sex. They don't, so it's only logical to assume that I don't own SGA. I don't make any money off this, don't sue.

Summary: Christmas Day means presents for everyone from everyone.
Author's Note: When Jill posed the question of what the members of the BAU give each other for Christmas, I was sold. Thanks to [info]seraphina_snape for the beta, and thanks to everyone who read it and gave me feedback before I posted it.

Help me out, guys!

I want to contribute some money for the new CM Appreciation Fund, a fund started by the Criminal Minds Fanatic Blog to help out those in the CM support staff that need our help the most as this strike continues to drag on. They are losing their financial security, people, and we need to help them.

So, here's the deal, I'd like to donate some money from Helge and myself, but I'm a bit at a loss as to how I'm gonna do it. I mean, it probably wouldn't be a problem to get the money exchanged in a bank here, but I'm not sure it's really safe to send cash in the mail from Norway to the U.S.

SO, what I need is a generous person who'd like to send Jill the money/a cheque for me and take repayment in PayPal, something from Amazon, paid LJ time or something to that effect - something I can pay online with my debit card.

Anyone?

I'd like to note that while I think I'll end up liking David Rossi, and have nothing against Joe Mantegna, I utterly detest that he's now first in the credits and cast listings.

...Please tell me there's a good reason, like that he's oldest or something?

So we all know that Hotch wears two guns, right? And it's duly emphasized on several occasions on the show, right? And it's mentioned in many fics, too? So why is it that we never get a viable explanation, canon or fanon, as to why, exactly, he does?
I mean, it would have been natural to explain it in 'LDSK', as long as their version of reality is that profilers aren't required to carry a sidearm. Why didn't they then, and why haven't they since? As far as I can remember, there have been four mentions or allusions to Hotch carrying two guns; in 'LDSK', 'Natural Born Killer', 'The Tribe' and finally 'Secrets and Lies'; all in season one. In 'In Birth and Death', when Hotch gets his piece our of the gun safe, there's just the one. Have TPTB decided that the two guns were insignificant? If they have, I'm a bit disappointed, because it was such a nice touch to Hotch's personality, and I'd love to see it explored and explained.
But you know, in 'In Birth and Death' we also learn that Morgan carries two pieces...

CBS Innertube needs to get it's act together, I want a 3x04 promo, dammit!

In other news, Helge has succumbed to the CM slash. We were watching "Scared to Death", and after the last scene, first thing he said was: "Well, Hotch and Morgan are certainly ...bonding." He had that look in his eyes. The slasher-look. The "OMG do they ever want each other!"-look. And while that scene isn't really the first one I'd pick to back my Hotch/Morgan OTP - pretty much every single one in "Profiler, Profiled" springs to mind - I'm glad he's finally jumped the bandwagon/cliff, whichever way you want to look at it.

And speaking really briefly of CM 3x03 Scared to Death... )

I've defriended a couple of people that I don't feel like I have a lot in common with, people I rarely or never comment to, and who rarely or never comment on my posts. Yeah. If all you can see is unlocked posts here, you've been cut.

But fret not - if you've been cut and want back in, all you have to do is comment here:)
Which you can also do if you want out and I haven't cut you - comments are screened.

I have a couple of questions, which may or may not be tied to a fic, regarding hospitals and their procedures.

If a person ends up in the hospital after a police standoff, how rigid are hospitals about not giving out information to people who are not the next of kin?

Okay, example: Say that Reid, for example after "Revelation(s)", ended up in the hospital, and that he'd been unconscious when they found him. In this example, his next of kin (who's sane) lives in (for example) San Fransisco or Seattle or something, somewhere rather far away, so it would take them a while to get there - how much convincing would it take for Gideon or Hotch to get to know how Reid was, how injured he was etc., and get to see him?

Would it be of consequence that Reid is FBI and that his team is..well, his team?

--

Okay, also: HIV. If someone is exposed to infection, how do they proceed from there? What kind of tests are used, when are they tested, are they tested more than once, over a period of time, how does it work?

I'm re-watching Criminal Minds (And when I say Criminal Minds, I mean all of it), and while doing so, I've found myself increasingly annoyed at the people who have been, and are, hating on Emily Prentiss.

Spoilers from 2x05 - 2x18 )

Okay. Not really Hotch/Haley. More like Hotch=/=Haley. Or whatever the fandom symbol for breaking up is. The quality sucks a little, but hopefully it gets the message across. For those interested, the song is by the first Norwegian Idol-winner, and the only one to date who's gone on to a decent career. Feedback is extremely welcomed. If it sucks - remember it was made in a state of high fever XD

Disclaimer: I own nothing. Aaron and Haley Hotchner and the rest of Criminal Minds belong to CBS and probably loads of other people, none of them being me. I use these clips merely for my own and other's fannish and non-profit enjoyment. The song "Never Easy" is written, composed and performed by Kurt Nilsen and belongs to him and his label.

ETA: Also, I hatehatehatehate that CBS-logo with a burning passion, but I couldn't think of any way to get rid of it, so there you are...

ETA the second: Fixed it. I didn't know I had to make it public for it to play here as well.
